Mit dem Weltcupfinale in der Sierra Nevada endete auch für Österreichs aktuell beste Snowboardcrosserin Maria Ramberger die Saison. Mit Platz 13 im Gesamtweltcup zeigt sie sich durchaus zufrieden, ihre Ansprüche sind aber höher. Um diese ambitionierten Ziele anzustreben, beginnt sie bereits jetzt mit dem Training für den nächsten Winter.
Hinter Maria Ramberger liegt eine aufregende Snowboardcrossweltcupsaison 2012/13. Sie feierte im Montafon ihren ersten Weltcupsieg, wurde zum dritten Male Staatsmeisterin in Folge und belegte mit Platz acht bei den Weltmeisterschaften in Quebec/Stoneham ihr bestes Ergebnis bei Großveranstaltungen bislang.
„Ich würde die Saison als solide bezeichnen“, resümiert die 26-jährige Klosterneuburgerin. Sie war in den Weltcuprennen ständig unter den Top 15 zu finden. „Ausgenommen meines Qualifikationsfauxpas in Sochi“, bemerkt die Niederösterreicherin lächelnd. Dort scheiterte sie nach zwei Stürzen in der Qualifikation. Der Kurs im Olympischen Skigebiet kam ihr in den Trainingsläufen nämlich sehr entgegen.
„An ein so starkes Feld bei den Damen kann ich mich überhaupt nicht erinnern“, gibt Mara zu bedenken. Im Gesamtweltcup findet sie sich auf Position 13 mit 1.440 Punkten wieder. Sie ist immer wieder Stolz, ihr alpines Heimatland Österreich so gut in den Weltcuprennen zu vertreten. Als beste Österreicherin kämpfte sie verbissen in jedem Lauf um das bestmögliche Ergebnis.
In den nächsten Wochen liegt ihr Fokus am Ausbauen ihrer Stärken und am Ausmerzen ihrer Schwächen. Deshalb trainiert Maria noch mehrere Wochen im US-amerikanischen Park City am Schnee. „Ich will an die Spitze meines Sportes und werde alles in meiner Macht stehende tun, um dorthin zu gelangen“, gibt die Klosterneuburgerin an. Nach einem harten Winter beginnt nun das harte Training für die Saison 2013/14 mit dem Highlight Olympische Spiele im Februar.
